The NSF is an independent organisation, commissioned by companies to test, approve and certify that equipment submitted complies with a set of quality and safety criteria.
With specific regard to water and water filtration, NSF tests and certifies water treatment and filtration devices at the request of manufacturers. In particular, it certifies that they meet requirements in terms of structural and material safety, and validates specifications in terms of contaminant reduction.
Several certifications are applicable to water filtration:
- NSF / ANSI 42: Reduction of organoleptic contaminants (taste, odour, chlorine, etc.).
- NSF / ANSI 53: Reduction of health-related contaminants (lead, PFAS, Cryptosporidium, etc.).
- NSF / ANSI 372: Absence of lead
Visit the NSF website to find out how our filters are certified.
The good news is that Ultra Sterasyl filters are NSF 42, NSF 53 and NSF 372 certified
