Exactly. Ultra Sterasyl and Ultra Fluoride filter cartridges have threaded rods whose diameter is perfectly suited to other stainless steel tanks on the market.
What's more, they perform well on many pollutants and are NSF certified.
If you're not sure which one to choose, take a look at this page.
Ultra Sterasyl and Ultra Fluoride cartridges contain silver for its bacteriostatic properties. This prevents bacteria from proliferating and developing in the filters.
The ceramic of the Ultra Fluoride and Ultra Sterasyl filter elements acts as a barrier. Bacteria, like many other pollutants, are blocked and cannot pass through the tiny pores of this envelope. Only pure, drinkable water can penetrate the filters.
Details of British Berkefeld® filtration are explained on this page.
No, and that's just as well :)
The property of British Berkefled® filters is that they retain undesirable pollutants but allow minerals to pass through in ionic form, which are beneficial to health. These minerals include calcium, potassium and magnesium. Heavy metals such as aluminium, chromium, copper and cadmium are neutralised.
The analysis results for British Berkefeld® filters can be consulted on this page.
Per- and polyfluoroalkylates, often known as PFAS, represent a family of over 4,000 chemical compounds. First appearing in the mid-twentieth century, they are used in many everyday objects for their non-stick, waterproofing and heat-resistant properties.
The best known of these substances are PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) and PFOS (perfluorooctane sulphonate). They are found in large quantities in seafood products and in water intended for human consumption.
As well as being toxic to humans, these chemical compounds virtually never degrade once in nature, earning them the unfortunate nickname of 'eternal chemicals'.
The good news is that British Berkefeld® systems are effective at filtering out these compounds. See the PFAS analyses carried out on Ultra Sterasyl filters on the analyses page.
Absolutely! All the plastic parts used in Ultra Sterasyl or Ultra Fluoride filter cartridges are BPA-free.
Each filter has a service life of 1500 litres, so each pair has a service life of 3000 litres.
As explained on this page, NSF certification requires filters to be tested on twice their capacity, which gives a significant margin in terms of service life.
Nevertheless, to ensure optimum performance, we recommend changing the filters after 6 months to a year, depending on how they are used.
